Members and Friends, This year has flown by and I can’t believe I’m saying this but it’s time for our December Bonus Event! What’s a Bonus Event, you may ask?  It’s when we color outside the lines just a little and plan something we might not normally do throughout the year.  And since it’s holiday time, we purposely try to make it something fun for co-ed participation.  This year we’re featuring wine cocktails at MPM Tiki Bar in West Broad Village – Short Pump. Our Wine Director, Kat Morgan, has personally selected 4 wine-based cocktails and paired them with selections from MPM’s Asian-fusion menu.  She’ll be on-hand to walk us through the selections and very likely provide some pointers for making wine cocktails (because she’s not just a WSET Level 4 wine sommelier, she and her hubby are also well-versed in crafting their own cocktails at home and we always learn something when Kat is at the helm).

Below is our menu for the evening. Feel free to bring your spouse, significant other, or some random guy off the street (ha ha) and join us for some casual holiday festivities.

Upon Arrival 

Edamame

Paired with a Cucumber Spritz

1st Course:

Bang Bang Shrimp

Fried Brussel Sprouts 

Paired with a Thai 75 (similar to a French 75)

2nd Course:

Dumplings (chicken/pork)

Gyoza (veg dumpling)

Paired with a Marinda

3rd Course

Pad Thai Chicken

Classic Fried Rice (veg)

Paired with a New York Sour

Dessert:

Jiggly Cat Dessert

(floated in just a little wine)

Venue Notes:  The event will begin around 6:00 pm,  Enjoy your cucumber spritzer while we have some time to mingle & catch up with each other.  The meeting and dinner will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.  Food service will be family style at each table.  Please note that some of these wine cocktails do include a small amount of hard liquor (e.g., gin/whiskey). Each person will receive a HALF cocktail portion per course.
