Women’s Wine Society is happy to invite you to our May event at The Kitchen Classroom. The impressive menu below is a collaboration by the chefs at The Kitchen Classroom, including new instructor Hans Doxzen of Quarterhorse. It is focused on Spring, the flavors of Virginia and the Coastal Carolinas, Germany, and Austria. Inspired by classic dishes, modern and seasonal flavors, familiar and new wines. Their team is extremely excited to prepare and present this menu for our group, and we’re excited too! It’s not often that we have the opportunity to enjoy wines from these regions and the food sounds phenomenal (and dare we say that the all-inclusive price below is unbeatable?!)
If you’re not familiar with the venue, The Kitchen Classroom is a local cooking class destination. Their interactive cooking classes include knife skills classes, date night cooking classes, cocktail classes, and classes to learn how to cook all types of cuisines from around the world. Due to the size of our group, our event will be structured as a plated dinner event but it offers a great opportunity to check out their space and other group event offerings. Chef Hans Doxzen has an excellent background. Most recently from the popular restaurant Grisette, Chef Doxzen has also worked at other very popular spots including Southbound, Brenner Pass and Pasture. 1st Course – Salad
Spring Vegetable Salad, Ramp Vinaigrette

2nd Course – “Shrimp & Grits”
Heirloom Spoonbread, Shrimp Gravy
paired with Barboursville Viognier, Virginia
3rd Course – “Jägerschnitzel”
Pork Tenderloin, Roasted Mushrooms, Velouté
paired with Gober & Freinbichler Blaufrankisch, Austria
4th Course – “Rouladen”
Braised Beef, Country Ham, Spring Vegetable, Rich Gravy
paired with Barboursville Cab Franc, Virginia
DESSERT
Seasonal Fruit Strudel, Brandy Cream
Venue Notes: Doors open at 6:00 PM and we’ll enjoy a sparkling German wine and petite biscuit bites while we socialize with other guests and catch up with each other. Opening remarks and dinner will begin promptly at 6:30. Parking is available in the Tuckernuck Square shopping plaza.
