Members and Friends, we are excited to invite you to our October wine dinner event at Palermo Trattoria in Westchester Commons. Owner Marianna worked directly with our Wine and Event Directors to create a fabulous pairing menu that includes many of their house specialties. It’s been a while since we’ve enjoyed a full Italian treat like this, so don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a taste of old Sicily!!  WWS Wine Director, Kat Aldrich, will also be on hand to personally walk us through our wine pairings.

Marianna’s menu for the evening will include:

1st Course – ANTIPASTI – Bada Bing Shrimp

Fried shrimp tossed in habanero honey over fried zucchini w/balsamic
glaze & garlic chili aioli

paired with Villa Matilde, Falanghina (Italy; Region: Campania)

2nd Course – PASTA – Gnocchi Palermo (Signature Dish)

Homemade spinach gnocchi dumplings, sun dried tomatoes, portabella
mushrooms & pine nuts in a creamy pink sauce

paired with Banfi Tuscany, Banfi Chianti Classico (Italy; Region Chianti Classico)

3rd Course – SALAD – Arugula Orange Insalata / Orange vinaigrette

Arugula lettuce, orange, red onion, feta & pine nuts

paired with Regaleali, Tasca d’Almerita (Italy; Region: Sicilia)

4th Course – ENTREE – Vitello Portabella

Veal, sun dried tomatoes, portabella mushrooms & artichokes/ marsala sauce

paired with Villa Matilde, Aglianico (Italy; Region Campania)

DESSERT – Limoncello mascarpone cake

Venue Notes:   Doors open at 6:00 PM and — weather permitting — we’ll have a sparkling Italian Prosecco opener and fried mozzarella bites while we socialize on their outdoor patio.  We’ll move back inside the restaurant promptly at 6:30 for the meeting and dinner.  Parking is available around Westchester Commons parking lot.
