Wine Trip to King Family Vineyard for Polo & Wine!

Join us as we travel on Sunday, October 6th with our friends and partners from RVA to the Monticello AVA* for a unique wine and polo adventure! Our destination is the award-winning King Family Vineyard in Albemarle County (Nominated for Best Winery Tour in 2019 and Voted #2 Winery Tour in 2018 by USA Today!) where we will share a tailgate picnic on the lawn of Roseland Farm, taste King Family Vineyard wines and be entertained by the last polo match of the season.  It will be a great day at the vineyard!

Here are the particulars:

Transportation will be safely provided by a James Limousine coach, which will depart at 10:00 a.m. from the Parham Road Ride and Park (Fordson Rd, Henrico, VA 23233). Travel time will be approximately one hour (snacks and bus-beverages will be provided by WWS).  After arriving at the vineyard, we’ll have an informal wine tasting and enjoy our tailgate picnic during the polo match (scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm). More information about the polo event can be found here: https://kingfamilyvineyards.com/polo/.  Optional vineyard tours are available at 1:00 and 3:00 pm – see Note below. (If the polo event is canceled, we will travel to King Family Vineyard, White Hall Winery & Stinson Vineyard.)  Our journey will come to an end back at the Parham Road Ride and Park lot by 6:00 pm.

What do you need to bring?

• A tailgate dish to share
• Outdoor chair (and/or blankets) which can be stowed on the bus
• Appropriate outerwear, Hats, and Flats
• A friend or partner (or both!) – this event is open to all!

What will WWS provide?

• We will have canopies, coolers and gas grills available at the vineyard
• Water, assorted sodas, (some) wine at the venue
• Grill fare (e.g., sausages/hot dogs)
• Raffle/game prizes

What is included in the $75.00 Registration Fee?

• James Limousine transportation
• Wine and snacks on the journey to/from the vineyard
• Wine Tasting at the vineyard
• Polo match & Tailgate party (or multiple vineyard tour if polo match is cancelled)

Additional Venue Notes:

• King Family Vineyard offers a Vineyard and Winery tour at 1:00 and 3:00. The cost is $20.00 and includes a “Classic” wine tasting. It takes approximately 1 hour.  WWS Wine Trip participants are more than welcome to take advantage of this opportunity on a “pay as you go” basis.
• Due to ABC laws, NO ALCOHOL other than King Family wine is permitted onsite. King Family Vineyards wine will be for sale field-side. All major credit cards accepted.
