The WWS June Event at Rowland was a huge success!  We are sincerely grateful to John Grimsley, owner of Free Run Wine Merchants for providing history for each of the tastings. For those who attended and would like to reference the wines that were featured, here is a rundown of the tasting notes…

For those who were unable to attend, we hope to see you in July at The 2300 Club!

TREVERI BLANC DE BLANC 100% Chardonnay sparkling wine crafted in the traditional method. Toasty, floral pear and spice flavors framed by a lively and fresh acidity. Treveri produces a remarkable set of sparkling wines from Washington’s classic and lesser-known varietals. All wines are hand-crafted in the traditional Methode Champenoise, with a secondary fermentation and conditioning occurring in each and every bottle. Launched by industry veteran, German born & trained Jurgen Grieb- Treveri is a family winery dedicated to putting Washington State Sparkling Wine on the map. Just three years since opening the doors, Treveri has been featured by the James Beard Foundation, served at the White House, and in the most recent months was recognized with a collection of 90+ reviews in Wine Spectator & Wine Enthusiast.

TAVIGNANO VERDICCHIO DI CASTELLI DI JESI CLASSICO SUPERIORE DOC-A perfect example of one of the most under-valued grapes in Italy. Almond, Apricot, Pear, bright acid. Tenuta Tavignano is located in the very heart of Marche, Italy, a region with a plural inflection of talents and an ancient agricultural vocation. Owned by the Lucangeli Aymerch di Laconi family, this estate has been producing wine since the 1600’s.

BALIA DI ZOLA SANGIOVESE DI ROMOAGNA DOC “BALATORE”  This 100% Sangiovese from atop one of the tallest hills in Romagna, Italy. Balatore shows red and black berries with a smooth, evolving finish and bright freshness.

LONARDO AGLIANICO IRPINIA DOC A great example of Aglianico from the Taurasi area of Italy. Dark fruits, red berries, flowers, all veautifully balanced.
